HIGHNAM PLAYERS

We are a friendly, lively drama society, formed in 1981 and based in the village of Highnam, 3 miles from Gloucester. We put on a variety of productions, including full-length plays, one-act plays, pantomimes and revues. Our members range in age from 8 to 80 and we have a thriving ‘Young Players’ Group.

We have frequently participated in the Gloucestershire Drama Association One-Act Play Festival and won numerous cups and certificates.

We also run drama workshops and a programme of social events, including skittles evenings, treasure hunts and Christmas get-togethers. We believe in having fun !

We are always pleased to welcome new members, performing or non-performing, resident in Highnam or not. Our productions are very dependent on the non-performing members, who help with all sorts of backstage activities. Don’t be put off if you lack experience - you will get support.

Our most recent production was a highly-successful production of the panto "The Scarlet Pumpernickel"
